Iraqi Kurds Deny The Existence Of A "Strategic" Plan To Destroy Arab Homes

Iraqi Kurdish authorities denied on Monday, November 14, 2016 that the destruction of the homes of Arabs in the area has recovered from the organization of the Islamic state was part of a strategic plan.

Remarks came in response to a report issued by Human Rights Watch, which said that Iraqi Kurdish fighters who are fighting the militants in northern Iraq destroyed the illegal Arab homes in dozens of towns and villages in what may amount to a war crime.




Dndar Zebari, head of the international response to reports in the government of Iraq's Kurdistan region, told Reuters that there were not any strategy the intention to destroy the houses.

He added that the KRG security forces may destroy property if confirmed the presence of explosive devices and that it destroyed the house be the last possible option when it is difficult to dismantle the bomb.

Zebari responded to Human Rights Watch's report on Sunday, but said he wanted to clarify the position of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
