The United States Expels 35 Russian Diplomats Suspected Of Interfering In The US Election

Washington will expel from the US 35 Russian diplomats accused of interference in the presidential election in November. At issue: piracy by Russia that would have led to the election of Donald Trump.


The United States ordered on Thursday 29 December the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats in Washington and San Francisco accused of interference in the US presidential election. Washington has also closed two Russian centers in New York and Maryland, among other measures. These sanctions are in response to Russian efforts to "harm US interests," said President Barack Obama.

The 35 diplomats have 72 hours to leave the US. Access to both centers will be prohibited from Friday noon. And the sanctions will not stop there, added the US president in a statement, warning that the United States would take other measures "at the time we choose", "including transactions that will not be revealed to the public ".

In his statement, the president said that he punished the GRU and the FSB, the two Russian intelligence services, and the companies that provided "material support" for the GRU's IT operations.

Trump does not believe in Democrat camp charges
