Never before has the Islamic State group struck Iran. Since yesterday it is therefore stunning. The jihadist organization has claimed the two attacks carried out almost simultaneously against the Iranian Parliament in Tehran and the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini.

Tehran Attacks IR: Tehran First For Iran

Iran was the scene of a double bombing on Wednesday (June 7th). Twelve people lost their lives in two attacks claimed by the Islamic State group in Tehran. The Iranian Parliament, but also the mausoleum of the former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini, were targeted. It is the first time that Iran, which fights against the jihadists in Iraq and Syria, is targeted by a terrorist attack of this magnitude.

A 30-year-old Belgian, Yassine Atar, arrested in the wake of March 22, 2016, attacks in Brussels, has also been charged in the Belgian part of the investigation into the Paris bombings of 13 November 2015, 2 June the Belgian federal prosecutor's office. An investigating judge charged him with "the head of terrorist assassinations and participation in the activities of a terrorist group as a leader" for his alleged role in the Paris attacks.
