Tehran: Iran's Ballistic Missile "Non-negotiable" Program

The spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry Bahram Ghasemi said Iran will not abandon its ballistic missiles which he said was "non-negotiable" in response to an invitation by EU foreign ministers on Iran to halt experiments related program.

Qasemi said the move on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, state television that the remarks "ballistic tests conducted in the framework of the country's defense program and Iran's defense capabilities are not negotiable in any way."

The EU ministers on Monday after a meeting in Brussels expressed concern about the missile program and called on Iran to halt ballistic tests.




Iran has worked over the past years actively develop ballistic missile program and has conducted a number of experiments, including one on a missile range of two thousand kilometers, sparking reactions of American and European.

He welcomed Ghasemi, "the EU's desire to develop relations with Iran" and the invitation to all parties to "full implementation of the nuclear agreement" signed between Iran and the vast power in July 2015, which aims to ensure the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the gradual lifting of economic sanctions for Tehran .

He said EU foreign ministers on the agreement, "it is essential that all parties respect their obligations in order to continue to restore confidence."

US President-elect Donald Trump described the nuclear deal with Iran as "the worst" and vowed to "tore it apart."

In his first press conference after the election of President Barack Obama, Trump said his successor "pragmatic" and that it will not be easy to abandon the historic agreements signed by the United States, such as the agreement with Iran and climate agreement.
