German Chancellor Angela Merkel has decided to run for a fourth term in the parliamentary elections of 2017. It aims to equal the record set by two other chancellors like her, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU): Konrad Adenauer ( 1949-1963) and Helmut Kohl (1982-1998).
