In Burkina Faso, this is the period for filing applications for direct public service contests. This year, the Burkinabe state plans to recruit 22,755 new civil servants, a figure below 2016. 80% of the posts to be filled will be occupied by needs to satisfy education and health. But the deposit system, which consists of assigning a number to each request received at the counter, leads to long queues.

In Burkina Faso, a caravan of sensitization against smoking has traveled since May 30 the streets of the capital Ouagadougou. For 48 hours, members of the association "Africa Against Tobacco" (Aconta) will show the health consequences of tobacco through images and explanations of doctors. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 4,000 Burkinabè die each year from tobacco use.

The Observatory for Democracy and Human Rights is concerned about the rise of acts, attitudes, and behavior that tend to deny, violate and flout human dignity in Burkina Faso.
